and neither do any other soy-based food products (soy milk, soy sausages, soy burgers, etc.). It is true that soy farming is an important cause of the deforestation of South-American rainforests. However, less than 2% of the global soy production is used to produce soy-based food. The other 98% are used in the food industry of to feed livestock. The food industry uses 16% of the global soy bean production in the form of oil to produce ready-made food. The livestock industry uses 77% to feed their animals.
